WakedUp Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 9, 2026  ·  Effective Date: June 9, 2026

WakedUp ("we", "us", "our") operates the WakedUp mobile application (the "App" or "Services"). Your privacy is important to us, and WakedUp is built to be privacy-first: the App is designed so that your personal information stays on your device. We do not operate servers that store your alarms, missions, photos, streaks, or other personal data, and we do not sell your information or use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

WakedUp is an alarm application that requires you to complete a wake-up "mission" — such as a short physical movement challenge, scanning or photographing an object, or taking a number of steps — before the alarm will turn off. This Policy explains what limited information the App uses, how it is handled, and your rights.

By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The Short Version

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy with a new "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

Information the App Uses

1. Information You Provide

2. Alarm and Mission Data

Your alarm schedules, selected sounds, chosen missions, mission-completion status, wake-up history, and streaks are stored locally on your device. This data is required for the App to function and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

3. Camera and Photo Data (Mission Verification)

Some missions use your device's camera — for example, to match a reference photo, to scan an object, or to detect body movement (such as push-ups). All camera processing happens entirely on your device using Apple's Vision and on-device machine-learning frameworks.

If you select a reference photo for a photo-matching mission, that photo is stored locally on your device for matching and is removed when you delete the alarm.

4. Motion and Step Data (Mission Verification)

The "walk to wake" mission uses your device's motion sensors (Apple's Motion & Fitness / pedometer) to count steps so it can tell when you've gotten up. These readings are processed on your device and are not transmitted to us or any third party.

5. Notifications

WakedUp uses local notifications scheduled on your device — for example, as a backup so an alarm can alert you on older iOS versions. These are generated and delivered on-device. We do not operate a push-notification server and do not collect a push token.

6. Payment and Subscription Information

WakedUp Pro subscriptions are sold as in-app purchases processed by the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Apple processes your purchase and shares only the subscription status needed to unlock features. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

7. Information We Do Not Collect or Use

For clarity, WakedUp does not:

Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized sales and crash diagnostics through the App Store if you have enabled sharing with developers at the operating-system level; this data is controlled by Apple and does not identify you to us.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above only to:

Because your data is processed on your device, most of these functions never involve us at all.

Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Data Security

Your information is protected by your device's built-in security (including device encryption and your passcode/Face ID/Touch ID). Because personal data is kept on your device rather than on our servers, the primary protection of your data is the security of your own device. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but keeping data local meaningfully reduces exposure.

Your Rights and Choices

Because your data is stored on your device, you can directly access, correct, or delete most of it within the App or by uninstalling. Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK under the GDPR and California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent.

To make a request or ask a question, email us at wakedupapp@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally within 30 days). If you are in the EEA/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children's Privacy

WakedUp is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at wakedupapp@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.

International Users

WakedUp processes data primarily on your device. The limited interactions that involve third parties — Sign in with Apple and App Store payments — are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy and infrastructure. If you contact us by email, that message is handled through standard email services.
